Foundation of Tranquebar: In the year 1620, the Danes made their entry onto the Indian stage by establishing a trade settlement at Tranquebar. This coastal town became a strategic outpost for Danish trade ambitions in the region.

Limited Strength and Presence: Despite their efforts, the Danes struggled to strengthen their position in India. Their presence remained relatively limited compared to other European powers, such as the British and Dutch.
-
Sale of Settlements to the British: The Danish efforts to solidify their hold in India eventually faltered. In 1845, the Danes made a significant decision by selling all their Indian settlements, including Tranquebar and Serampore, to the British.
